    Shocked at other reviews

Wow! I'm a little shocked at the bad reviews! I bought this on black friday for $[...] and I LOVE it! I had previously used a swiffer sweep & vac (the battery died and it didn't clean up bigger messes) and then I bought the shark stick vac (one of my kids knocked it over and cracked it). So I purchased this as a third stick vac. I love it. It is very powerful, I don't understand these people saying it doesn't pick up messes. It totally picks up messes big and small!!! We remodeled our kitchen and I used it to vaccumm little sheetrock particles as well as the every day messes my 4, 5 year old kids & 3 year old lab leave behind. I have had some issues finding a new filter at walmart and target but I suspect I will find one easily online. Overall I LOVE this vac. I use it only for my tile areas and yes maybe you do have to empty it semi-often (but I have forgotten about it alot and never had a problem)it works great for cleaning up after my 2 kids and dog. 4/5 Holly Evans "Hevans" (Midland, Tx) - See all my reviews, May 16, 2010

    Great for small jobs

Got this on sale at Target for $10 (Black Friday) and it's a decent little machine. Great for vacuuming my area rug and hardwood floors. I wouldn't expect this machine to clean up a large mess. Very lightweight, easy to maneuver and much quieter than a full size vac. Nice that it also transforms into a hand vac. In one use it picked up a lot of dust and cat hair that wasn't evident. Definitely a keeper! 4/5 Kath&Chloe "KC" (Beverly Hills, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil SD20000RED Simpli-Stik All-in-One Stick Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen) Got this on sale at Target for $10 (Black Friday) and it's a decent little machine. Great little vacuum for small spaces!

I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. When I opened it, and it went together like a lego toy, I was skeptical. But it's amazing!! It's never going to be your only vacuum if you have a big house (the wheel base is small, so you'd be doing a lot of walking back & forth), but if you have a little apartment, or want to keep a seperate vacuum upstairs, or in different rooms of your house, this vacuum is perfect for that! It's basically a hand-held vac, that has a detachable stick-handle, vacuum/wheel base, and crevice tool. Unlike the cordless hand-vacs, it doesn't lose power after 30 seconds, because it's electric. The crevice tool works great, and it's as light weight as one of those kids' toy vacuums. Also, when I emptied it (you will have to empty it pretty much every time you use it, but what do you expect?) I was shocked at how much dirt was in it- I'd just vacuumed with my expensive... 5/5 stefany9579 (Olympia, WA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil SD20000RED Simpli-Stik All-in-One Stick Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen) I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. UPDATE

UPDATE FOR REVIEW BELOW:Okay...fifteen days before the two year warranty was to expire...it quit charging. With a deep breath, I contacted customer service. I was initially told to take it to the nearest service center which was 45 miles away. I said that was too far for me and was transferred to someone else who promptly gave me instructions to send a clip of the power card and the manufacturer sticker on the back of the vac and they would send a replacement. Exactly six days later, FedEx delivered my replacement vac! I am stunned..this kind of warranty back up just is not seen in America. So, the vac lasted two years which is twice as long as my Shark vac lasted and the prouduct warranty was actually honored by the company! Yes, it can be a bother to have to keep that filter clean, but again, it is a great little helper when it comes to keeping the basement family room picked up and for quick pick up throuhout the house. Thank you Dirt Devil for a great product... 5/5 D. Ackley (Easton, PA) - See all my reviews, December 7, 2009

my favorite vacuum cleaner for about 2 yrs now...

bought this on amazon to replace my order one... the older one worked great until.. I broke it.... I slammed it against something hard and it broke completely.. don't ask me why... but that happened and I had to replace it with a new one..CONS-the suction isn't the best...user has to hold the vacuum at a specific angle for the suction to be perfect..-only good for small waste and dust... bigger waste tend to stuck and the user has to dig it out with fingers...PROS-the charge time is very short-does not take any room so for people who care about the interior look - this will look fine and sometimes unnoticeable if you put it right beside a little table or in the corner.-easy grip and easy usage-for students and for people with apts (studios to 1 bedroom) this is a very good vacuum !!!for me Iuse it almost everyday to clean out everyday dust and my dog's fur off the floor, and it's a very good product for what... 4/5 Hyun Jun Kim "Josh Kim" (NY, USA) - See all my reviews, December 28, 2009

    Perfect for what it is

This vacuum is perfect for what it is. I like the fact that the Accucharge won't drain the battery like what happened on my Dustbuster. This does need pretty frequent cleaning to keep up the suction, although that's not difficult at all. The Dirt Devil makes a very loud, high pitched noise, especially if it's not 100% clean, but I can totally live with that. It's been so nice to have this to clean up after our shedding dog and dirt from our kid's feet. The rotating brush does help picking up dirt from our carpet. We use this vacuum almost daily. 4/5 krispin "krispin" (Berkeley, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This is a great product!

I wanted to write this review because there were somenegative reviews which almost caused me not to buy it, but Ibought it anyway. I decided to wait a few months (4),though, to make sure I really liked it.I do.The negative comments were: *********************1) short cord and owners manual says don't use an extensioncord.2) I have COPD, and somebody said emptying the canisterraised a huge cloud of dust.3) Others stated that the exhaust was on the front of themachine and would blow around the debris you were trying topick up, especially on hardwood floors. ***********************1) This sounded weird, so I got out my calculator. A 25 foot14 gauge extension cord added to the 19 foot cord on themachine gives you a 44 foot cord - 88 feet of copper tocomplete the circuit. This gives you - with the 7 amp motor- a voltage drop of... 5/5 M. Johnston "Mike J" (Colorado) - See all my reviews, December 17, 2011

    Pleasantly surprised

My father bought me this vacuum for Christmas since my old hand me down one finally died. I opened the package and was worried that it wouldn't be very strong considering it's size... WOW. I have a cat and a dog and this thing picked up every single hair in the house. I was shocked to see how much dirt had been in my carpet all this time... and more shocked that this lightweight vac picked it all up. It's great for the stairs too because it's so light. I would recommend this to everyone. 5/5 AKFlorida - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vac Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum, UD20010 (Kitchen) My father bought me this vacuum for Christmas since my old hand me down one finally died. Where is the power?

The Dirt Devil starts off great, but it relies on a single, relatively expensive replacement filter. After a few minutes of use, it was clogging itself.I bought this product and the Black and Decker Dust Buster CHV 1400 at the same time from Amazon. The Black and Decker is not only a better product but cheaper at initial price and in the long run. The B&D picks up broken glass and spilled rice without issue, and relies on multiple cleaning features, that just need a dump in the trash. Much longer time before you have to replace the expensive disposable filter. Better battery life, and power. The dirt devil's only advantage is that is comes in silver and sleeker. The B&D is by far the better product.I am updating this review now 3 years later. The Vac still works fine, just used it today. So upping this to 4 stars. $40 product lasting 3 years, got to be something said about that. Howerver still like the traditional vacs better like the B&D. 4/5 Jeffrey S. Powerful but a few cons

I purchased the vacuum through Amazon. It is indeed a powerful handheld vacuum. Cons: the replacement filters are expensive $5 each, plus postage and you can only get them through Dirt Devil. Then you also need an adaptor, $2, for the filters. The filters are paper, clog up very quickly, and are not cleanable. The retractable nozzle is very handy but swivels on two very small plastic nibs/arms. One of these arms broke just two months after I got the vacuum and Dirt Devil says I now have to purchase the entire front "cup" for $9, I cannot just purchase the swivel arms. If I had known the cost of the filters and that they do not last very long, and that the nozzle arms are not very durable(it is a poor design), I would not have purchased the vacuum. Too expensive to maintain.P.S. I did get the front cup, so I could use the swivel arms, Dirt Devil did not charge me, this was covered under warranty. That surprised me. Good product

Update 06/16/10=is performing consist and pick up is better than most handhelds.I previously owned a Shark 15 volt with roller brush. It is getting old so I am shifting it to car clean up only. So when I shopped for a replacement, it was down to The Euro Pro Shark 16.9 volt with motorized brush or this one. I could not find the Dirt Devil in a store to look at, but did look at the Euro Pro in the store.I purchased the Dirt Devil because it had higher volts, the crevice tool is attached, and it is supposedly easier to empty the cup. However, this DD does not have the immediate power suction my old 15 volt Shark has. You have to be more methodical about it, and run the thing slower over the areas. It picks up good though. The Euro Pro has more bristles.I like the attached crevice tool, one less thing to keep up with.I really can't see the big deal that it is easier to empty the cup. 4/5 Mary B. poor suction power

I am really disappointed in this product. Although the vacuum sounds like it has alot of suction power, it really doesnt. I have to go over the area that i am trying to pick up some dirt several times. it almost gets to the point that it is easier to pick up or sweep up the dirt/item. This is while it is fully charged. 1/5 jah006 - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Power to spare

This unit is so powerful it nearly jumps out of your hand when you hit the on button, and it leaves NOTHING behind. Picking up little crumbs and things from a carpet, it doesn't wait for the nozzle to suck it up, but starts sucking when the nozzle is about an inch away. This replaces a Dustbuster that's 20 years old. I've had an upright lightweight Dirt Devil for years that's served me well, and I'm hopeful this will do the same. I haven't used the brush yet except to see if it runs. I also haven't used it long enough to judge the endurance of the battery, but so far it's fine. Yes, it makes some noise. You can avoid the noise by getting a less powerful unit, but I think most people use cordless vacuums only a few minutes at a time, so the noise should be bearable for such brief use. 5/5 Michael Everett (Santa Monica) - See all my reviews, January 23, 2011

Nice looking product. We bought four of them for our resort and restaurant. I picked this one because of the powerful battery voltage of 15.6V. But the battery life is terrible. Not much Suck for the Buck

For the price and proposed voltage it does little beyond what similar $19.95 models in other brands do. Doesn't suck up even piles of dirt unless they are directly (if then) under the suction rectangle. No 'tight corner' attachment makes this farely worthless. 2/5 KH,MD "KH,MD" (DES MOINES,IA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil BD10125 Gator 15.6-Volt Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen) For the price and proposed voltage it does little beyond what similar $19.95 models in other brands do. So far so good...

After an issue with our Shark pet hand vac not being able to charge anymore, we found this. I am not particularly fond of the color red in general and we all know DD's are a very bright, blinding red. I have used it before the 24 hour charge period, and naturally it began to die on me. Why its not almost fully charged already concerns me, to say the least. I do not recall receiving the brush attachment with the product.Pros:It seems to pick up nicely and have good suction power for the price. The filter is washable and so is the dirt cup.The charging port is on the back of the handle, not on the underside like other products.. This is much more convenient.__________________________________________________Cons:Takes a long time to chargeThe dirt cup is small, but this isn't really a big deal for me because when I'm cleaning I always keep a large trash can or trash bag with me at all times and can empty... 3/5 Kee "-" (Usa) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil BD10165 Gator 15.6-Volt Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner with Detachable Brushroll (Kitchen) After an issue with our Shark pet hand vac not being able to charge anymore, we found this. Pathetic.

This vacuum doesnt have a lot of power to begin with, and requires 24hrs to charge- for which the user is rewarded with approximately 30min. of actual, useable suction time. It also requires the user to FULLY drain all charge from the battery in order to fully charge again (or you'll have even less suction for even less time!) This process takes about 20min AFTER the vacuum has so little suction that any debris is only being moved, not removed. Enjoy listening to it slowly wind down before you charge it for 200 times the amount of time you can spend cleaning up messes. Add to this already awesome list of features the tiny capacity of the dustbin, and my assessment of this product is: utterly pathetic, not worth the money or the time, and quite useless. Keep your $50 and start saving for a dyson. 1/5 SETH B - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil BD10165 Gator 15.6-Volt Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner with Detachable Brushroll (Kitchen) This vacuum doesnt have a lot of power to begin with, and requires 24hrs to charge- for which the user is rewarded with approximately 30min. of actual, useable suction time. So far, so good...

Well, I don't use it every single day, but it has worked well - as advertised - right out of the box. I have no complaints. I would recommend it to anyone. 4/5 Angela Warner (Omaha, NE USA) - See all my reviews, November 30, 2009

    disappointed...

Suction power not that strong compared with one I once owed powered with outlet cord. The UV-C Air-Sanitizing feature "sold" me, honestly no way to realistically judge if or how well it works. The blue light is on, but most irritating, it makes this mid frequency humming sound. So irritating that especially in a quiet room it's too much to deal with. My solution is I put it in another room in a wall closet (even though I don't know whether I get much benefit from it there.) The best aspect - vacuum without cord. 2/5 S. Nice little futuristic looking handheld vacuum/air sanitizer!

First of all, if you don't like the white noise of a small fan, you will not like this. However, those that do, this little 'guy' is perfect for a bedroom. Ever since we got it, I actually sleep through the night, and oddly enough, I no longer have sore throats (been on and off for over a month). Could be just perfect timing and nothing to do with this product, but I do like it.The vacuum has quite the power behind it, for it's purpose, which is small spills or animal hair.I also like the UV-C light, because having it in the bedroom, where we have it, it adds a bit of a night-light effect. All in all I am quite happy with this product. 4/5 Sapphyre "Raven" (NY USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Cleans Spills and Cleans the Air!

This is a great little vac for small spills on counters or floors or for picking up dog hair and dust that accumalates under the counter eadges. Since it is stored right in the charging base it is always convenient and ready to go. It has a nice rubber coated hand grip and a soft tip so things don't get scratched.Another neat feature is that the charging base is also an air sanitizer that uses UV-C technology to stop the spread of airborne germs and kills odors.Great way to do quick touch up cleaning when you don't want to pull out the big upright. 5/5 Golden Bear (North Bend, WA 98045) - See all my reviews This review is from: Germ Guardian GGH200 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner with UV-C Air-Sanitizing Technology (Kitchen) This is a great little vac for small spills on counters or floors or for picking up dog hair and dust that accumalates under the counter eadges. The Steam Mop SHOWDOWN: I've done the product comparisons for you...

(update: This review was updated on 11-2-09 after I got to compare the Bissell as well as add notes about the Ladybugg steamer at the bottom, and then on 11-30 when I got to compare the SteamFast SF-140)I live in a neighborhood where EVERY home is "green built certified" this means that, to have that certification, the builder built no homes with carpet. All the main floors are polished concrete and the upper floors wood. The bathrooms all have tile and/or slate in every home.Because of this, as you could imagine, steam mops are quite the neccessity...not only because they get the hard surfaces better than anything else, but because they are also "green" and clean chemical free. I'll be honest, for us...that's a bonus but we weren't cleaning chemical free before. We like chemical free for our pet's paws but I'll confess I was mopping with chemicals before I got my steamer and just kept the pets out of the room while doing it because, up until then, I couldn't... 2/5 Chandler - See all my reviews, November 30, 2009

    awesome!!!!

used this for the first time today on the ceramic tiles in my kitchen. it was in some serious need of cleaning but the scrubbing always killed my back. i was amazed how it just cut through the foot path that goes through the kitchen out the back door. and the ring around the dog bowl - yeah - cut right through it. it would be nice if it lasted longer - but right about the time it runs out of steam - so do i. i just sit down - take a little break - and about the time i'm ready to go again - so is it!!! quite a little trooper. definitely worth the money. will be interesting to see how long it lasts. but even if it only lasts 6 months - it's paid for itself in time i've saved cleaning the floors. it usually takes me 1/2 hour to clean the kitchen floor (i have a "country kitchen"), it took me 15 minutes!~~and it was definitely cleaner than i ever got it! 5/5 melian1115 (oklahoma city,ok) - See all my reviews This review is from: SteamFast SF-140 1000-Watt Hard-Floor Steam Mop (Kitchen) used this for the first time today on the ceramic tiles in my kitchen. it was in some serious need of cleaning but the scrubbing always killed my back. i was amazed how it just cut through the foot path that goes through the kitchen out the back door. and the ring around the dog bowl - yeah - cut right through it. it would be nice if it lasted longer - but right about the time it runs out of steam - so do i. i just sit down - take a little break - and about the time i'm ready to go again - so is it!!! quite a little trooper. definitely worth the money. will be interesting to see how long it lasts. but even if it only lasts 6 months - it's paid for itself in time i've saved cleaning the floors. it usually takes me 1/2 hour to clean the kitchen floor (i have a "country kitchen"), it took me 15 minutes!~~and it was definitely cleaner than i ever got it! Works well for the price

This is my 2nd Steam Mop. First one (different brand) died after 2 years. One of my criteria for a steam mop is that it must have continuous steam. I do not like steam mops like the Shark where you must pump the mop in order to create steam. The second item to look for is how many WATTS the steam mop is. Anyting under 1,000 Watts is not really worth considering. Third is the convenience of putting on the microfiber pad. The velcro pads are the way to go.This mop is not perfect but pretty good for $39. It is sturdier then most steam mops, has continuous steam generation, has 1,000 Watts of power, and velcro micropads. Some people left feedback that it left the floors too wet, but they have since revised the manual and recommended that you only use 200ml of water at a time in the tank instead of 250ml as indicated in the manual. The only negative comments I have is that they tank is fairly small at 200ml and the head does not swivel which makes it tough to get in small... 4/5 Product Guru (FL USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: SteamFast SF-140 1000-Watt Hard-Floor Steam Mop (Kitchen) This is my 2nd Steam Mop.
