    Excellent vacuum !

This is the best vacuum I've had yet for hard wood floors. I have 1 child, 2 cats ,a dog and a bird and it literally was a breeze on all of their mess, such as candy wrappers, hair, cat litter and seeds. We have a large townhouse and I could do the first-floor and steps without having to replug somewhere else. The dirt canister is larger than I thought it would be and the suction was great! It's also very easy to clean. It is lightweight and easy to handle and the micro-fresh filter only needs to be replaced 2 times a year ... (Now that makes me breathe easy). The only thing I can come up with that I would change on this vac is that it does not have a retractable cord. 5/5 Raven_Fan (Baltimore, Md USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) It's OK

I bought this vacuum cleaner for the air filter because, at the time, it was about ... less than a HEPA filter vacuum. I also wanted to try a bagless vacuum cleaner. The suck power of this vacuum is good, but not about to pull up any carpet. I found that having a bagless is not all it's cracked up to be - especially since trash and dirt are affected by static electricity and don't always pour right out. Make sure you clean the filter outside -- banging it around inside the house will just put dust back into the air. The vacuum is compact and stores well. I'm a little displeased with the handles, though. I don't think they're air tight enough.3 stars means I'm satisfied, but when it's time to get a new vacuum I'll look for a different one. 3/5 M. A. Suits our needs and pocketbook perfectly!

For hard surface floors with pets (dog, cats, bird) & kids this vacuum is perfect. It is light-weight and compact, easy to use, easy to store. Except the carpet attachment (which we rarely use) accessories attach to the handle, convenient for use & storage. My wife likes the machine because it rolls nicely and is light. I prefer toting it across my back (strap included).Related to other reviewer comments: (1) The new model has only one filter with recommended changing once per year. (2) Suction is very adequate but not what I expected of a 12 amp motor. Perhaps the HEPA filter requires extra horsepower. (3) When the house is really dirty, the cannister is probably best emptied after every room. (4) Less dusty than compressed air, we use a shop vac to clean the cannister and filter. It gets fine dust out of the filter. We feel we have to be careful, however, not to scrape the filter with hard edges of the suction tube. (5) Power cord retraction would be nice, but I am glad... 5/5 R. Knapp (MT USA) - See all my reviews, November 2, 2005

    Very Good Canister Vaccum

I have mostly hardwood floors and a little carpet and not a lot of space to store a bulky vacuum cleaner. It was difficult to find a model that would transition easily between wood and carpet. This model is excellent on the hardwood and tile floors, but it is not the greatest on the carpet. The suction is great and easily adjusted from the handle. It is easy to dump the dirt from the bagless collection area. It is a little small, so if fills up fast. The only other issue I have with this is that the cord is very short - so you have to keep replugging it in all over the house. Otherwise, a very lightweight, nicely designed vacuum. I am very pleased with it. 4/5 D. Seymour "snadmus" (Atlanta, GA USA) - See all my reviews, February 4, 2007

WOW way better than expected !

I just got this vacuum a few days ago. I was a bit skeptical when I opened the box, its much smaller and lighter than my heavy old eletrolux that had just died before I ordered this one, but it was here and I needed to vacuum the house, so I figured I may as well take it for a test drive. Assembly was a breeze just plug in the hose, snap on the wand and cleaning head. I did the carpet in my living room first, and was impressed with how much power it had. I stopped to read the instructions on how to empty it and tried that too. Very easy just press a button and lift it out, press another button and it opens to empty. I was shocked to see how much it had already picked up ! After that I went ahead and did the whole house. I really like that the variable power control is on the handle and not the canister, the tools and heads are easy to change, and the cord rewinds with the touch of a button. I'm glad I picked this one, its easier to use and picks up even better than my old vacuum... 5/5 C. Leach "cybershopper" (Tampa , FL) - See all my reviews, May 11, 2007

    LOVE IT!!!

I love this vacuum! I have only tile and hard wood floors so it is hard to find a lightweight vacuum that does a good job. I had the Blue dirt devil vision and loved that but my kids are rough on it when they use it so it was pretty beat up after 4 years so I bought this vacuum. This one is even better. Love the auto cord rewind. I love the tools. I also like the fact that I can vacuum small areas and get under beds easily. Dirt Devil makes the best canisters for non-carpeted floors by far and I have tried several and have returned several!!!! 5/5 T. N. Shockingly light!

I bought this vacuum cleaner as I had previously had a simmilar model in Germany. I was shocked by how light it is and was not confident in how well it would clean, but it does surprisingly well and after a few days' use, I trust it to last.It sucks well, has small but effective wheels on the sides of the hose at the head which ensure it won't scratch hard flooring and the rubber-ish surface on the two big wheels mean that it moves reliably over my varnished hardwood floor without marking. The little independently rotating wheel underneath, which enables it to move freely in all directions, broke off from my original model in Germany - that does not appear to be any more sturdy on this version, but I'll add a comment later if it happens.Overall, this vacuum cleaner is light and effective, moves well across my hard flooring without marking, and appears to be equally good at cleaning my rugs! 5/5 eV - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent for bare floors

My previous vacuum had those motorized brush heads. It was fine, but not having any carpets in the house, I felt I was simply using a machine that had features that I did not used to their full potential. All these features also had a weight that I had to drag around while vacuuming. With this Dirt evil canister model, I had all that I needed: lightweight to quickly pick up dust, dirt and a little bit of dog hair (I have a Lhasa Apso). It's extremly easy to empty as well! Its power cord is fine for me, as I have have read somewhere on the net that some users find of somewhat short. If you have one electric outlet per room, you should be fine. I find it's power to be more than adequate: I was able to pick up some of my dog's food pellets hidden in some corners. I got this item on special at 60$ and I'm more than happy with it! Makes vacuuming much easier, lighter and faster. This model might not be powerful enough if you have a heavy shedding dog... My mom has a Pembroke... 5/5 Q. T. Excellent Performer

I was quite surprised at how well this little guy picks up. The motor is 10 amps and this probably helps with the noise level as it is not too loud, but it has plenty of power. The floor tool actually sticks to the floor to some degree from the suction, and the design of it allows it to suck up the entire width of the tool and even a couple of inches out. I have hard wood floors and had no problems picking up the fur balls that my Blue Russian produces, this stuff seems to be attracted to the walls and corners. I also had no problems picking up dirt and debris my children seem to produce. I am 5'11 and the metal tube is adjustable and on the longest extension feels comfortable. I need a vacuum that I can use 1-2 times a week and not have it feel like a chore, and I think I found it.This is my first canister, so I am no expert. The build is somewhat cheap, but this is a sub $100 vacuum so in line with what I would expect. I could not find any major manufacture flaws. The... 5/5 J. A solid 4 stars, good for the money!

Overall I like this vac for the price. It is not comparable to it $200 counterparts, but for the $69 I paid for it, it was well worth the money. I think this vac is comparable to vacs in the $80 or less range.PROS: I have a bad back so I love that it is so light and easy to move. Empting it is so easy, just press one little button and your done. I also like how they separated the filter area from the dust area so you don't have to shake out the filter each time you use it. It works great for places like the bathroom where there are bath mats; it goes right onto them without sucking up the corners or chewing up the rug. It is low profile so it goes under furniture and around items very easy. The cord retractor works great, I have never used a cord retractor that actually works all the way to the end, but this one does!Cons: The vacuum head is a little cheap; it feels flimsy and has a hard time on carpet. The spinning head is moved by the suction, not by the motor, so... 4/5 Nicola Havens "Nicola Havens" (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews, December 20, 2005

    Don't Buy It !

I bought this vacum at Target nearly six months ago. It has a very strong suction, and runs relatively quiet, but it cost a fortune to maintain! The root cause for this maintainence is that Dirt Devil designed this machine to use the Hepa filter as a vacum bag. All the dirt raps itself around the filter until its completely crapped up, and if you use it beyond that stage it will completely shut-down. I call customer service about it, and they recommended that I clean the filter more frequently. Which I now do, but I still have to replace the filter on average once every 2 months or else I'm force to breath all the fine particles that the Hepa is suppose to protect me from. The cost of each filter is an appauling $30 bucks. My car filter doesn't cost more than $7 dollars. At this rate I've already bought the vacum cleaner within my six months of use. Save yourself the hassel. Don't buy it! 1/5 Prof2U "Septimus" (Paterson, NJ) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil 082660 Vision Canister Vacuum (Kitchen) I bought this vacum at Target nearly six months ago. Great for the price, great for floors.

I just bought this vacuum a few days ago, but I am really fond of it. My entire house is vinyl tile except for a few throw rugs. Uprights have never been good for me, since the rotating brushes tend to throw dust around on a bare floor. This Dirt Devil comes with two different heads: one for bare floors, and one for carpet -- with a rotating brush that is powered by suction instead of a motor.I vacuumed my entire house with the bare floor head and it worked great! This vacuum is quieter than I expected for a sub-$100 unit, and had more suction than I expected.Emptying the reservoir is simple... a touch of a button! I have terrible dust allergies, so I can honestly tell you that the HEPA filtration seems to work perfectly on this little vacuum. You can store the vacuum sitting down or on it's end. It takes up very little room in my closet. The only complaint I have is that the cord isn't as long as I would like... only 15 feet... 4/5 J. generic vs brand name

Be aware: Even though they're advertised as "Dirt Devil Type F, by Dirt Devil", they're not. They're generic and I was sent 3 packs of 3. 9, not 10 bags. I complained to KillDirt, and after a few emails and a month went by, they finally sent genuine Dirt Devil bags. To their credit, KillDirt sent extra to make up for the delay. Maybe now they're shipping genuine DD bags--I noticed the price went up a bit. 4/5 bushel - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A GREAT bagless vacuum, but be aware of what you are buying

DISCUSSION:We have a larger house and so prefer to have 2 vacuums for different areas (carpet vs tile floors). For example there is no power brush on the floor attachment of this vacuum so it works best on smooth surfaces such as wood or tile floors. My petite wife Really likes it because it is light weight and easy to maneuver which is a big plus. After all we men sometimes forget who it is that normally performs the vacuuming in a house. As the man of the house I have volunteered to clean the vacuum when necessary so have lots of experience with that part of it. Cleaning is a little messy but no big deal. If you prefer not having the convenience of a vacuum that uses a replaceable bag then REGULAR CLEANING IS REQUIRED. We have had this vacuum for just over a year and it has given us no problems at all. All the attachments including the hose are very sturdy and obviously designed to last. IMPORTANT INFO regarding CLOGS

I've owned this vac for about 2 months and began experiencing loss of suction and poor performance. I was literally at wit's end and ready to throw the thing out the window. I bought new filters and still the same problems. I read the instruction manual over and over, looking for some reason. Here's the deal that the instruction manual DOESN'T mention: there is a pre-filter inside the plastic "bagless" collector part you pull out and empty (NOT related to the grey sponge or the HEPA filter). Open the bottom of the dirt/dust collector. Empty the contents and look up inside. There is a black cylinder inside a clear cylindrical receiver. I hold the bagless collector in my left hand so when I turn it upside down, the assembly is on the right. You can't miss it, although I did for 2 months. That is where all the hair and other light-weight junk builds up!!! Give the black cylinder a counter-clockwise twist, pull it out, and clean. I literally pulled out about a packed 8-ounce... 4/5 Anthony C. Slay "I Be Shoppin'" (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews, May 6, 2011

Wish I could give ZERO STARS

This vac was impressive out of the box. the suction was amazing... for a week. You quickly will discover that his vac takes an enormous amount of TLC. If you have a woman in the house with longish hair, or pets, it will clog up immediately. You have to use your fingers or a tool to pull out the debris EVERY time you vacuum. The filter pad has direct contact with debris, so it need to be replaced or washed every few vacuums. WE VACUUM EVERY DAY.. not carpet.. hard wood floors.. and this vac lasted a month before it completely died, despite all our extra care of unclogging, etc.I'm not sure what it is supposed to vacuum up. It can't handle hair.. it chokes on anything bigger than a cheerio.Miserable, awful product. Went into the garbage today.I suspect it has probably already been discontinued.PLEASE don't waste your money. 1/5 Twinsboystwice (House of Clone) - See all my reviews, January 2, 2010

When trying to decide if this model (3670G) was the right vacuum for me, I found a considerable amount of confusing information regarding it's features on the internet..and from the manufacturer itself. First of all, many online retailers flat out state (inaccurately) that this model has a "HEPA" (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter and at least one of the reviews for it here on Amazon (at least as of this writing) seems to indicate that it has one as well. I can tell you outright that having checked with the manufacturer directly and now owning one myself that it does *NOT* have a "HEPA" filter. More on that a little later in this review however.I found another confusing aspect of the description is in the model number (i.e. 3670G). Be careful to understand the difference between what Amazon calls the 3670 (also called the 3670A in some places) and the 3670*G* models. They look identical and appear to be identical (both are yellow and black) however the 3670 only has... 4/5 Aficianado, "Music, Film and Book Lover" (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews When trying to decide if this model (3670G) was the right vacuum for me, I found a considerable amount of confusing information regarding it's features on the internet..and from the manufacturer itself. Mighty Vacuum

After our quite old Eureka canister vacuum had finally gone belly up, we were looking for an appropriate replacement. Because this was needed primarily for cleaning hardwood floors, there were a few critical criteria. It had to be strong, yet compact in size. It should not be too loud, and the tool assortment should be appropriate for floors and vacuuming cat hair of various furniture items. Finally, we did not want to have to mess around with cleaning out bagless vacuum containers. The Eureka Mighty Mite 3670 came through with flying colors on all fronts. It produces a powerful vacuum, easily maneuverable, convenient for storing, the noise is not too bad, and a good price. This vacuum cleaner gives an excellent value, and, certainly, gets the job done that we bought it for. 5/5 A. Silverstone (Durham, NC USA) - See all my reviews, June 4, 2005

For the money, this is a great little vacumn. I use it more than my $350 upright, since it's light and versatile. But, you may want to order better dusting and floor tools than the ones that come with it. 4/5 Diane (Penfield, NY USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum (Kitchen) For the money, this is a great little vacumn. Love this Vac!

We have hardwood floors, a few area rugs and this little vacuum does a great job everywhere. Best of all, it's small, easy to work with and carry. I love the retractable cord and the metal tubing extends easily and is sturdy and well-made. Formerly owned the Dirt Devil Breeze and the (bagless) plastic dirt container recently broke - I was happy to move to this better designed vacuum that didn't require me to deal with the dirt. The bag and canister area seems small on this vacuum, but I haven't filled it even halfway after a couple of thorough passes through the whole house. The distinctive design makes the chore a little more fun. 5/5 Ms Joan Jones (Atlanta, GA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil SD30040CS Tattoo Crimson Stars Bagged Canister (Kitchen) We have hardwood floors, a few area rugs and this little vacuum does a great job everywhere. Powerful little monster

Admittedly I have only just gotten this vacuum and cleaned one room with it, but so far it seems great. I upgraded from a bagless handvac and this guy is sooooo much more powerful (a real vacuum!) Bigger than a handvac but still small and compact, easy to store. Has to be plugged in, but I don't mind (it's actually arguably easier than remembering to charge a cordless), and it has this nifty button that causes the cord to rewind back inside the body of the vacuum. Wheeeee!Oh, and I didn't quite see this in the picture, but it's cherry red with a black and silver stars and swirls design, making it easily the most rock and roll vacuum cleaner I have ever seen. 5/5 Laura Redcloud (Boston) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Serves A Purpose

Have a small dog (Boston/Rat Terrier Mix) that sheds like crazy, and with my wifes bad back shes not able to use the Dyson Animal so Im the Dyson operator for the carpets and throw rugs. She wanted to be able to vacuum every day on the wood floors to pick up the 50 pounds of dog hair that stand out like a sore thumb. Picked this one for its size and the flexible hose so she wouldnt feel like she was dragging a cinder block behind her. It does a great job on the hard floors and tile. A little hard to get real close to the baseboards or the corners due to the size of the head. I've ordered the floor brush and 10 bags from the Dirt Devil site (only place that had the bags). I havent received those items yet as their slow shipping is pathetic. All in all, for our purpose this vacuum is relatively perfect. As a whole house vacuum you'd better look for something else as this would'nt cut it. 5/5 JIM - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Adequate for light use

The SD 30050 is a fairly inexpensive and unremarkable canister vacuum. Weighing in at 10lbs, you're not going to break your back carrying it up and down the stairs. It comes with standard attachments and features: a telescopic chromed hose, a crevice tool, a small brush, a hardfloor tool, a rotating carpet brush and a small rotating brush. The power cord is self-winding and works well. It is equipped with a continuously variable power control on the canister as well as a bleed valve on the handle.Unfortunately, but not surprisingly considering its low price, the rotating brushes are powered by suction. In plain English, they stop rotating as soon as you start needing them, so they're completely useless for most serious tasks. Another weak point is the "onboard storage" for the tools: the manual attempts to convince you that it's reasonable to keep the small brush and the crevice tool clipped to a plastic piece which itself clips around the handle. I give it less than... 3/5 esanta "esanta" (San Jose, CA USA) - See all my reviews, October 3, 2011

    Powerful, compact, lightweight, variable speed.

This lightweight and powerful vacuum cleaner takes up very little of the valuable space in your home, but with its variable speed motor it does quite an effective job. It's also fairly economically priced at about $130 or less at the time of this writing. It comes with all the attachments one would expect with any good vacuum and most of them can be conveniently stored on the handle. Dirt is stored in a disposable bag. The power cord can be retracted at the touch of a button. The large power button can be easily activated with your foot to save bending down. A quality and versatile item at an affordable price. 5/5 Valnastar "Man With No Name" (Deep 13, USA) - See all my reviews, September 28, 2011

There's a lot to like, but it comes up a bit short in suction, which is the whole point of a vacuum.

The Dirt Devil Turbo Canister Plus is a lightweight, easy-to-handle vacuum that is designed well. It's simple to operate and maintain, bag replacement is easy, cord length is adequate (I wouldn't have minded if it were a little longer, though)... all of those factors are well done here. It has a good-sized sweeper head, a five-foot hose and an extendable pole. The design is really good (though the hose seems just a little more delicate than I would like). It comes with standard attachments for things like corners and hard-to-reach areas. The weak point, however, is the only one that ultimately matters for a vacuum- the suction power. It's a bit underpowered in that area for anything other than hard floors, on which it performs admirably. On carpets and upholstery, though, it doesn't perform as well. Obviously, its price point indicates that it isn't going to compete with heavier-duty vacuums, but even so, one expects a certain level of performance for ANY surface, and on... 3/5 Sam M. Great Value - Perfect for shorter pile carpet and bare floors

I received my new Dirt Devil Multi-Cyclonic two days ago. Put it through its paces. It's better made (better build quality) than I thought a Dirt Devil would be. Very impressed. Cord is on the shorter side, but that's a small concession for a very reasonably priced vacuum. The brush bar in the Power Nozzle has some good, and one not so good quality issues. For the good: the belt cannot break (geared belt) with a reset button if it jams. The height adjustment works perfectly, and I'm delighted there's a headlight (although a light on the front is not a deal breaker for me - it is for others). The brush roller is narrow in diameter - so you'll find yourself cleaning hair from it more so than if it was larger in diameter. The opening on the bottom of the Power Nozzle is also narrow - that's to optimize the pick up on bare floors, which it does superbly. I never saw any other power nozzle (with brush in OFF position) pick up as well on bare floors. However, on carpets, it's... 5/5 T. Gasko (st. louis, missouri) - See all my reviews, July 28, 2011

My Love / Hate Relationship with this Vac

Growing up my parents had a very expensive canister vac, and as a young girl I thought it was fun to vacuum, now it's NOT so much fun - and this will take some getting used to before I decide if I like this canister after using uprights for years. I have a 2 year old Dirt Devil upright and it has some similar features as this, such as the one-touch-to-empty dirt cup which I love. In general, uprights are easier to use because you don't have the canister tagging along behind you, getting caught on corners of furniture, and even the walls. However, the uprights are also heavier to push and can't go in every nook and cranny like a canister can. This vacuum was easy to assemble - I didn't bother looking at the instructions to hook-up the handle/wand to the hose, and to the canister, it was easy to figure out just by looking at the various parts and snapping them together. However, as to vacuum use, I did read the manual and I wish they had made it a little easier such as larger... 3/5 Yarii (Near Greentucky) - See all my reviews, September 26, 2011

Dirt Devil Power Reach Multi-Cyclonic Canister - SD40030

Well this is a product from Dirt Devil and the details have been published on DirtDevil's site only 2-3 days back.[...]Its well made, seems strong. The hose swivels at nearly every connection. The lock to leave the power brush upright seems fragile and will probably be the first thing to break. The light does not come on if the brush roll is not on. The vacuum is sufficiently wide, so the suction is not even on the entire width. This will be the problem for vacuums will no powered brushroll. Even on hard surfaces it is better to keep the brush roll on since it helps in picking up something struck beneath furniture..The canister is very easy to clean, cord seems very short and noise level is less than my old bissell bagless. Suction power is quite good. Even though my old bissell also did not loose any suction, it's just a matter of keeping the bagless ones clean. The only cons which I see are1.
