  hard to find locally

  Needed replacement filter for my hand held Dirt Devil vacuum, finally found it on Amazon.   It's a filter. It filters.

  It's the OEM filter, so I can't say that it filters any better or worse than the original filters, because it does, and because it is the original (not an aftermarket filter).If you have a Dirt Devil hand vac that takes one of these filters, buy a few and keep the filters clean.   I searched every home store I could think of locally for the filters and no one even sells the vacuum anymore, let alone the filter.   Dirt Devil F9 WASHABLE, REUSABLE Vacuum HEPA Filter

  I have not used this item for a long time yet but as of this moment I am very happy with its performance. It is a vacuum filter, so how excited can I get. The fact that it is washable and reusable makes me give it five stars. Now only time will tell if it was worth it.   NOT Original Dirt Devil Filters

  I received the two air filters and they are not original Dirt Devil HEPA filters. I tried one filter and it is not correct since the vacuum does not work with it (loss of suction, burning smell from the vacuum, and the filter has a plastic coating which feels completely different from the regular "paper" feel of the filter I bought in the store last year).   when I was buying it, the product description said "Genuine Dirt Devil". It's not. It's generic and it's made by Envirocare Technologies. The filter material feels different from the original, but it did fit the vacuum.   Good To Have..........

  If you bought the corresponding Dirt Devil hand-held and you have pet hair, you will be changing these filters sooner than the 6 month recommendation. That is not a knock on the product, just the reality of pet hair. So, good to have a few on hand.Also, if you have ever bought a product that had replaceable parts, after awhile you must go to buy those parts. Often you find that the model you own has been replaced and the replacement parts are no longer available or the new item is juuuuust a little different from the old one. So, either throw the old one away and buy a new one or (in this case) dig the dirt out of the old filter and keep using it.
