  Our big and heavy Dirt Devil Platinum Force quit after 5 years of service and we decided to try something lighter and much less expensive.The Breeze arrived in 3 days, even with free shipping - thanks Amazon!Assembly was a breeze, just 4 screws. We have over 1500 sq ft of carpeted areas and steps so I put the new vacuum to work.Pros:-- Price (and I also used a gift certificate) - sweet!-- Lightweight!   The Breeze is a mixe bag(less) of good and not so good

  First off, how do you say "mixed bag" about a "bagless" vacuum? Well however you say it, here is my opinion on it - the good and the bad. I purchased mine as a second vac, and despite past nightmares with entry bagless vacs, wanted something I could empty after each occasional use vs. store away with a partly filled bag.On the pro side: This unit is VERY light in weight. Great for those with arthritis or anyone who is carrying a vacuum up and down stairs. What is not lightweight is the power - it definitely has good suction. I also like the slightly narrower width whem compared to most other vacuums - 13" wide vs the more common 15" wide may not seem like much, but this fits in narrow places yet is still a full power vac.On the neutral side: Emptying is easy, but like most entry level bagless units, the filter is a mess to deal with.   Built Like a Tank, Sounds Like One, Too!

  I've had my Dirt Devil Breeze for (3?+) years now (Obviously an older version but based on what I see from the picture nothing had changed much.) Bought this as replacement to a previous vacuum cleaner which had the "fan" (not sure if this is the correct word for it) that was in the path of the dirt (I believe that was a hoover). I used it to pick up some solid object and got stuck in the "fan" which caused it to break on me. The design of the breeze was a lot better since the filter catches objects before it gets to the suction mechanism. Overall, does what its supposed to do.Cons:- The exhaust out in front was definitely a design "duh". But you wouldn't realize it till you use it for picking up light material (e.g. small bird feathers).- Is there an easier way to switch from bottom suction to the onboard tools?- Emptying the canister is definitely a hassle (but sames me money in the long run)- *LOUD* And I cannot say this enough.   GREAT Purchase!!

  When I received this filter, I put it in my machine and it fit perfectly. This is 100x less expensive than Wal-mart and the original Hoover filter. When I compared this to my old filter, these filters feel much more sturdy. The fact that I can wash and reuse it will save me money in the long-run. Any savings in my pocket is appreciated!   Good for Regular Filter - NOT WASHABLE

  This item is NOT washable. I just received a return phone call from the manufacturers (Envirocare) and they confirmed my suspicions that this product is being falsely advertised. I attempted to get info from the seller and was told that they absolutely were washable, however the manufacturing company has confirmed with me that they are indeed not. They are fine regular, disposable filters. But they are not washable.   The good:The suction is good.The long power cord is good.The bagless part is good.The weight of the unit is good.The bad:The hose doesn't really stretch more than a few inches. So when using the wand attachment you don't have a lot of "hose" to work with. So that's bad. Also, the unit "vents" a LOT of air out the side. When I clean my hard-wood staircase this winds up blowing more cathair and dust off the stairs than the wand sucks up. This would probably not be a problem on carpet, except for ...The UGLY:The revolving brush-head is NOT motorized. Instead, it spins like a "pinwheel" from the power of the vacuum. The vacuum, while good, is simply NOT powerful enough to spin the brush and beater-bar while held against a sofa-cushion, or carpet, or much of anything really.   "Power" "Reach" - Ha!

  I'm really sorry I purchased this vacuum. Yes, it has a beater bar, but the lightest pressure (such as gravity) will keep the bar from spinning. Whatever dirt it picks up often falls back out of the vacuum head/attachment head, so you do twice the vacuuming for the same effect. This is a very poor product and isn't worth any amount of money. My 10 year old Dirt Devil with the worn motor and clumsy attachments does a better job.One positive thing - the box looks nice. 1/5 Rosemary L.   No suction, brush doesn't work--waste of money

  If there were a rating lower than 1 star, I would have used it, because this vacuum doesn't even deserve 1 star. In a moment of madness, I recently gave my old Dirt Devil to my daughter and bought myself the so-called "new and improved" model as a replacement. Big mistake. My old Dirt Devil was a workhorse and was used to spot clean the upholstery and floors in our RV, truck and car, and home, along with cleaning lots of other things such as draperies, pet beds, etc. I used it daily for 15 years and never, ever had a problem with it. This new bagless Dirt Devil has never worked right. Immediately, the revolving brush quit revolving. I returned the vacuum for a new one; the revolving brush never did revolve on it, even right out of the box. The vacuum loses suction within a minute or two because of the useless filter system.   Great filter at a great price!

  First off, dirt devil designed their canister in the vacuum I have so that the vacuumed up debris fills up around the filter. If someone is unfamiliar with this and they go to dump the canister the filter gets dumped too. I've bought too many of the regular filters over the years I've owned this vacuum and was thrilled to find a lower cost filter from a known company. I feel much better buying a filter from a company like 3M than an unknown label. I'm happy with this filter and would recommend it to anyone else. 5/5 J.
