This is a bait & switch, you will receive a knockoff

The title claims that this filter is "by Dirt Devil." The picture shows a filter by Dirt Devil (green label & writing on top). But what was shipped was a knockoff by Crucial Vacuum. It does fit and works reasonably well, but it is not what was advertised. 1/5 H. Wasti (USA) - See all my reviews, December 19, 2009

It fits and it works great - thanks, Amazon!

Unlike certain other Dirt Devil owners, I checked the make and model number on my sweeper before ordering this filter. It works just fine! If you have one of the models above, don't hesitate to buy this filter.Amazon made this purchase easy. The store in which I bought my Dirt Devil, a large national chain featuring appliances and linens, stopped carrying filters for bagless vacuum cleaners. Rather than having to run all over town looking for the filter, I came on here and found it right away. Thanks, Amazon! 5/5 R. The previous entries didn't check their vacuum cleaners...

After reading the previous reviews, I realized that the three of them all made the same mistake. They didn't check to make sure the filter would be compatible with the year and model of their cleaners. When I decided to buy my filter, I checked www.DirtDevil.com, looked at the sticker at the bottom of my vacuum, and checked three more sites. I only made my purchase after I was positive that I had the correct part. Apparently, the other reviewers did not. Before purchasing anything, make doubly sure it's the correct item. And if you aren't 100% positive, do some reasearch. Five minutes of online web surfing can save you hours of frustration. 5/5 Mike 79 (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil F1 HEPA Filter (Housewares) After reading the previous reviews, I realized that the three of them all made the same mistake. This SUCKER really SUCKS!!! (in the best possible way)

I apologize for the length of this "review". In the process of deciding which model of hand vac to buy, I ran into a number of confusing issues.First, before this purchase (of 2 hand vacs), I have never bought any hand held vac that was NOT a Black & Decker DUST BUSTER. I suppose that is because they were the first to have a cordless/rechargeable hand vac, and inertia took over when it came time for me to replace them. By the time the thrill of having that first rechargeable hand held vac wore off, there were other companies making hand held vacs, but I stuck with B&D's DB's. I cussed them out over various things - mostly they just weren't very good. There were few choices of model; the accessories from one generation didn't fit the next generation even when the next generation came on the market with no accessories (dust brush, crevice tools, etc.). This was one of the few times in my life I put up with any serious product dissatisfaction. Works very well but does *not* feel secure on the wall mount

This is a very nice little vacuum. I keep it in my garage, near the entrance from the kitchen, and use it for small jobs like cleaning the kids' crumbs off the car seats and floors, sucking up bugs and spiderwebs from the garage wall, cleaning food crumbs from crevices in the kitchen, and removing dust and crumbs from my computer keyboards and monitors. It has a small retractable brush that is very useful for car cleaning, and a plastic nozzle that can flip forwards to extend the reach, which is good for cleaning things high up and sucking up bugs.Apparently this device has a smart charger which does not simply keep the battery at full charge all the time but optimizes the recharging to extend the battery life. I have certainly not noticed any deterioration in the battery in the several months I have owned this vacuum.Opening the device to empty out the dirt is easy. Most of the dirt just drops out into the garbage. I like to use my central vac nozzle to... 3/5 PAUL BRADSHAW (CT, USA) - See all my reviews, April 1, 2011

    it works

I have old dark hardwood floors that never looked clean by sweeping them with a broom or using a dusting mop. This floor brush works beautifully. The brushes pick up all the fine dust left on the floor by the previous methods and the floor is left very clean. You have to vacuum off the lint and dust that collects on the brushes frequently but that just means it is doing a great job. 4/5 Scoe (SC) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) An improvement of the OEM attachment

Purchased this to replace the floor attachment that came with my Kenmore vacuum. This floor brucsh is almost 3 times wider, has much fuller brushes and wheels. It definately covers more area, more quickly. My only reservation is that it does not have a hole in the neck to accept the spring-loaded button that held the original attachment in place. However, this replacement brush didn't come loose. I guess if it ever starts to come loose, I can always drill a small hole in the neck to accept the button. I also didn't have any trouble with its fixed vertical angle (the original attachment was also fixed). I highly recommend and would buy one for each all of my canister vaccuums, especially at the $14 price. Enjoy. 4/5 Tanner "Tanner" (Georgia) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 1 & 1/4 inches DELUXE FLOOR BRUSH for most vacuum cleaners. (Misc.) Shocked at other reviews

Wow! I'm a little shocked at the bad reviews! I bought this on black friday for $[...] and I LOVE it! I had previously used a swiffer sweep & vac (the battery died and it didn't clean up bigger messes) and then I bought the shark stick vac (one of my kids knocked it over and cracked it). So I purchased this as a third stick vac. I love it. It is very powerful, I don't understand these people saying it doesn't pick up messes. It totally picks up messes big and small!!! We remodeled our kitchen and I used it to vaccumm little sheetrock particles as well as the every day messes my 4, 5 year old kids & 3 year old lab leave behind. I have had some issues finding a new filter at walmart and target but I suspect I will find one easily online. Overall I LOVE this vac. I use it only for my tile areas and yes maybe you do have to empty it semi-often (but I have forgotten about it alot and never had a problem)it works great for cleaning up after my 2 kids and dog. 4/5 Holly Evans "Hevans" (Midland, Tx) - See all my reviews, May 16, 2010

    Great for small jobs

Got this on sale at Target for $10 (Black Friday) and it's a decent little machine. Great for vacuuming my area rug and hardwood floors. I wouldn't expect this machine to clean up a large mess. Very lightweight, easy to maneuver and much quieter than a full size vac. Nice that it also transforms into a hand vac. In one use it picked up a lot of dust and cat hair that wasn't evident. Definitely a keeper! 4/5 Kath&Chloe "KC" (Beverly Hills, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil SD20000RED Simpli-Stik All-in-One Stick Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen) Got this on sale at Target for $10 (Black Friday) and it's a decent little machine. Great little vacuum for small spaces!

I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. When I opened it, and it went together like a lego toy, I was skeptical. But it's amazing!! It's never going to be your only vacuum if you have a big house (the wheel base is small, so you'd be doing a lot of walking back & forth), but if you have a little apartment, or want to keep a seperate vacuum upstairs, or in different rooms of your house, this vacuum is perfect for that! It's basically a hand-held vac, that has a detachable stick-handle, vacuum/wheel base, and crevice tool. Unlike the cordless hand-vacs, it doesn't lose power after 30 seconds, because it's electric. The crevice tool works great, and it's as light weight as one of those kids' toy vacuums. Also, when I emptied it (you will have to empty it pretty much every time you use it, but what do you expect?) I was shocked at how much dirt was in it- I'd just vacuumed with my expensive... 5/5 stefany9579 (Olympia, WA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil SD20000RED Simpli-Stik All-in-One Stick Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen) I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. The BEST auto vacuum

This thing is perfect! The things I looked for when shopping for my first auto vac were:1) Length of cord - plenty of legnth. DON'T EVER GO FOR A WIRELESS AUTO VAC! The suction power dies, and eventually, you'll have 5 minutes of good suction per charge. The cord for this vac is too long - and that's a good thing. Of course you'll need a cigarette lighter input, which all cars should have. I am able to reach the back of my Scion tC with ease and extra cord available. And if you know anything about tC's, they are small cars so you big car owners should have no problem at all.2) Suction power - Since this is a wired-type, there's no need to worry about loss of suction power. With 12V, this thing will clean up your car pretty nicely. For those stubborn pieces of dirt, hair, cloth, etc. that stick to your car fabric, the brush attachment does wonders.3) Attachments - It comes with three attachments - a brush attachment, a rectangle-to-circle attachment... 5/5 Howie (Dallas, TX USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Wow! That's the one I was looking for!

It's the third vacuum cleaner I have experience with. First one was cheap and useless even it was plugged in cigarette lighter it never could pick up any dirt, the second was the same but wireless with 3 minutes of full suction and 2 minutes of slow death (30 min to recharge). I'm done with cheap (around $12) stuff. It was all wasting of money and I always ended up with brush cleaning. It works fine

This handheld vacuum cleaner works fine. It is not as strong, but hopefully Black & Decker improves it over time. For light dirt, it works perfectly fine. If you have heavy soil dirt on your car carpet you may need more powerful one or you have to be a little patient; it will eventually get all that heavy soil. I am a dirt freak so it is helpful to have it in the car for a quick touch up.One thing I really like about this vacuum cleaner is that it comes with a hose and a brush, which is necessary for mobility. You can clean dirts on dash, door panels, instrumental panel, on and inside the seats, etc. For my car, I can just stick it in the cigarrett charger without put my car key in the ignition. In short, it is for what it worths and it can do a reasonable good job. 3/5 G. loved it initially. now...not so much

i thought this was going to be the perfect solution for the daily dust that accumulates on my hardwood floors. initially, i was impressed. the swiffer seemed to pick up a lot of the dust. however, i was bothered by the plastic "vacuum" part, as it sometimes can scratch the floor if you're not careful. as another member wrote, it would have helpful if they would have put some rubber or something over the plastic vacuum part.as the months passed, i found that the vacuum didn't seem to pick up as much as it used to. i do clean the filter regularly (which is a dusty mess each time you do it), so i don't know what's going on. frankly, the vacuum just isn't strong enough for what i need it to do anymore. i've reverted back to my regular "super-strength" vacuum to get the job done.pros:* lightweight* easy to use* works great for very light jobs* small and easy to storecons:* vacuum not as strong... 2/5 E. I have five cats. This means a lot of cat litter, cat food, and cat hair on the vinyl floor in my utility room. The Swiffer Sweeper Vac is perfect for quickly and easily picking up all of the above. It is light-weight, and does not scratch the floors. No dust pan and brush needed. The flexible sweeping head swivels easily to reach into corners and under cabinets with no problem.Important to keep in mind:In the user manual that comes with the product, it states you MUST charge the battery for a full 24 hours before first use.It states the vac will run for about 10 - 12 minutes on one charge, then need to be charged for 16 hours. It states the Sweeper&Vac operates best if used until fully discharged before charging again. It is intended for dry pick up only, not liquids. The dirt container is small. I just checked, and one 8-oz measuring cup of dry cat litter more than fills it. I'd say 4 - 6 oz is more like... Better than a broom, but not as good as I'd hoped

I'd like to give 3 and a half stars, but since I don't have the option, I put 3. This product isn't bad - it is a good way to give a quick touch up on our tile floors. It's definitely less work than a broom, but is not quite as effective as I had hoped. We have a fairly large tiled area, and with 3 people (including 1 teenager) and 3 cats, there's a lot of dust, hair and crumbs on the floor. The sweeper did okay with the dust and hair, but the vacuum is only so-so on what it picks up. It would not pick up kitty kibble crumbs, for instance. A whole piece of cereal will not get vacuumed up, while a crushed piece of cereal probably will. The key to this product is to use it often - if the floor gets too dirty, it's too much for this product to handle. But for quick every day maintenance, it beats getting out the broom for sure. 3/5 Digigirl (Sugar Land, TX) - See all my reviews, June 19, 2006

IF you have an old Dirt Devil - These are the bags

We did not think that we could find bags for the old dirt devil because the last bag was thown out before a number could be found. These bags worked great in the 1996 vintage dirt devil. 4/5 D. Miles (Denver, CO) - See all my reviews, August 24, 2007

    Go with the Brand Name!

Over the years, I have had many vacuums that took bags for dust and dirt collection. Now most vacuums have dust cups. My little hand-held Dirt Devil Vac still is going strong...and I insist on buying genuine Dirt Devil Bags. They fit properly and no cloud of dust, as with the knock-off brands....yes, I did try that once. Live and Learn. Someday when this one wears out, I will purchase the Dirt Devil hand-held with the dust cup...but for now...it's still going strong...and I always buy the Dirt Devil Bags. 5/5 Deborah A. These bags are the only way to go

If you have a handheld Dirt Devil vac, these bags are really the only good option. And, they are hard to find at Target, Wal-Mart and the grocery stores. I'm not sure why they are so difficult to find in Atlanta, but I had to resort to Amazon.com and pay shipping. It's worth it, as they fit perfectly. 5/5 Jennifer Morrell "jennmorrell" (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews, March 29, 2007

    Good product

Update 06/16/10=is performing consist and pick up is better than most handhelds.I previously owned a Shark 15 volt with roller brush. It is getting old so I am shifting it to car clean up only. So when I shopped for a replacement, it was down to The Euro Pro Shark 16.9 volt with motorized brush or this one. I could not find the Dirt Devil in a store to look at, but did look at the Euro Pro in the store.I purchased the Dirt Devil because it had higher volts, the crevice tool is attached, and it is supposedly easier to empty the cup. However, this DD does not have the immediate power suction my old 15 volt Shark has. You have to be more methodical about it, and run the thing slower over the areas. It picks up good though. The Euro Pro has more bristles.I like the attached crevice tool, one less thing to keep up with.I really can't see the big deal that it is easier to empty the cup. 4/5 Mary B. poor suction power

I am really disappointed in this product. Although the vacuum sounds like it has alot of suction power, it really doesnt. I have to go over the area that i am trying to pick up some dirt several times. it almost gets to the point that it is easier to pick up or sweep up the dirt/item. This is while it is fully charged. 1/5 jah006 - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Power to spare

This unit is so powerful it nearly jumps out of your hand when you hit the on button, and it leaves NOTHING behind. Picking up little crumbs and things from a carpet, it doesn't wait for the nozzle to suck it up, but starts sucking when the nozzle is about an inch away. This replaces a Dustbuster that's 20 years old. I've had an upright lightweight Dirt Devil for years that's served me well, and I'm hopeful this will do the same. I haven't used the brush yet except to see if it runs. I also haven't used it long enough to judge the endurance of the battery, but so far it's fine. Yes, it makes some noise. You can avoid the noise by getting a less powerful unit, but I think most people use cordless vacuums only a few minutes at a time, so the noise should be bearable for such brief use. 5/5 Michael Everett (Santa Monica) - See all my reviews, January 23, 2011

This thing Sucks in a Good way!

I purchased the older model PHV 1800 a little over 3 years ago, back in May 2007. I liked it so much that I purchased another one for my in-laws a month later. For the last couple of months, the battery no longer retained a proper charge and since the battery is unfortunately not replaceable, it gave me an excuse to buy this newer model PHV 1810. As with the previous model, this is the best and most powerful handheld vacuum we've ever used in our household. As I'm comparing the two units side-by-side, the new vacuum is a little smaller than the previous model and the dirt bin is bigger (it should hold more dirt). Since the battery on the old model is pretty much dead, I cannot give you an accurate power suction comparison between the two, but this one seems as powerful as when the previous model was new.The nozzle has a wide range of motions, it pivots to use at many angles and has a cleaning brush built into it (you just need to flip it upwards) so you'll never... 5/5 D. Newer is NOT better

I have compared new Black and Decker 1800 and 1810 side by side. Less noise is the only thing the 1810 has over the 1800, but I don't consider that an advantage in a vacuum cleaner that I want to suck! The suction, the charging stand, the design of the 1800 is far superior to the 1810. In fact the 1810 has a MAJOR design flaw: Fold the nozzle back and everything you just vacuumed up falls out the nozzle! 2/5 Robert Stephan - See all my reviews This review is from: Black & Decker Pivot Vac 18V Cordless Pivoting Hand Vac, PHV1810 (Kitchen) I have compared new Black and Decker 1800 and 1810 side by side. powerful little vac

This thing is a powerful hand vac!I haven't figured out if the brush feature is any good yet.I like the smaller attachment that slides out for small areas.Emptying out the container is easy enough but sometimes I use my big vacuum to really get the junk out.One thing to keep in mind is it is a bit heavy but I don't mind.I have not had any problems with stuff coming out when folding it up.I love having this thing around! 4/5 D (CA USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
