  Wrong Filter

  I had initially ordered this product based on the picture because my present filter looks exactly like it but when the actual filter arrived it was the wrong one. It did not have the (6 and the tap)on it like the picture, it was white and much larger. However I returned it and made sure to place my next order based on my vacuum's product number. Eventually the correct filter was mailed to me, Filter Part #911685-01. Filter #911685-01 is exactly like the picture, therefore I wish that they would put the correct picture for corresponding filter because that picture DOES NOT accurately represent Filter Part #911236-01. 2/5 J.   Don't do it!

  This is not an official Dyson filter therefore it doesn't fit the chamber. We had to force it to close and then when we did get it closed it barely worked.   Dyson DC-17 Washable Filter

  It's a shame that Dyson doesn't include a spare filter with the purchase of a vacuum. The filter is washable but who realizes their filter needs washed until they are using the vacuum. Since you have to allow ample time for the filter to dry you really need to have 2 filters. A new, clean filter allows your machine to vacuum just like new. 5/5 David A.   Pros: Fits a DC17 perfect, improved suction over the 5 year old filter, cheaper than Dyson brandCons: It wasn't free? There isn't a white 6 on the filter like the Dyson brand?Other thoughts: It was a quick pop and replace, not problems getting the new one in. Even if you're washing them regularly filters tend to wear out over time. Don't throw out that old Dyson, replace the filter, belt, beater bar and clean off the gear.   I've had my Dyson for about four years now. I kept taking out the filter, cleaning it, and putting it back in the vacuum. After four weeks, the vacuum started making noise again. I decided to replace it with the Crucial Vacuum Brand Dyson DC-17. Immediately after, my vacuum was upright and I was wondering why it was making so much noise.   Perfect for my DC-17!

  I am thrilled to have found this reasonably-priced, well-made filter to use with my Dyson! I was one of the idiots who never washed the original filter with my machine until all of a sudden it was completely clogged and my vacuum stopped sucking! A suck-less vacuum really...well...it sucks! I needed my vacuum to suck again and went and found some helpful info online about washing the filter that included the line that I needed to wait a full 24 hours for the filter to completely dry before reinstalling and using my Dyson again. I washed the filter in the dead of winter and ended up having to wait a lot longer than 24 hours for it to completely dry during which time my house was being taken over by dust bunnies and floating clumps of cat hair and that is what prompted the purchase of this filter.   Got generic

  I bought this filter because the rubber on my original filter had ripped and was just not doing as good of a job. Filter arrived and put it in vacuum, it fit but seemed a little to tight could hardly shut the lid back down and it wasn't even labeled like the picture or the original filter. My motor on my dyson burnt up and started throwing sparks with in 5 uses. I now have had to throw my $600 vacuum away!!!   Replacement Filter for factory Original

  I just received my DC17 filter ordered from AAA Vacuum Inc. thru Amazon fulfillment center, shipment was good, only 5 days from placing order to delivery. It looks almost the same as my factory original, just a slight different look, but my vacuum is approx. 5 years old so the look could of changed slightly since then. It is marked Dyson Genuine Components on the sealed bag it came in. I put the filter in my vacuum and used it, and so far so good. I was actually having a problem and couldn't figure out what it was with my vacuum. Did the whole deep cleaning thing, etc. The issue was : It would start off with the sound it normally has when turning on and vacuuming but then , it would change to a different sound the air passing thru filter area would come out from a hole area next to it. Hard to describe, but since putting in this new replacement filter, it hasn't been doing that anymore. I read it from someone in another review that replacing the filter helped them.   Hose did not last

  I was hoping that this hose would last longer than the Dyson original manufacturer part. I get at least 7-8 months out of the Dyson hose before it starts to tear at the top end. This hose did not make it two months before tearing at the top.This hose material is thinner than the original part. It is also not made as well with cheaper attachment parts. If you do not use the floor attachment much and just use the vacuum by itself than this piece could work. I use the floor piece every time, so this is not an option for myself.You can buy the original hose from Dyson directly for $39.99.   Can't live without my vacuum

  I have 3 dogs - 2 of them are Aussies- and 2 kids who don't care what they track into the house. I vacuum just about every day. I love my Dyson and was really upset when the webbing on the hose pulled away from the rings and tore open. I considered buying a new Dyson (my husband was not please about that). Instead I went online and easily found the part I needed on Amazon. This part was delievered within days and it was so easy to install.   It worked with my DCO7 animal

  For the price I figured I would give it a shot despite the mixed reviews. I found that other then the color being a bit off (darker purple then my vacuum) the hose was almost identical to the original and even with the darker color it still looks far better then the duct tape which I need to apply to the old hose so my vacuum would still work. this replacement hose fit well, the tube slid down the hose perfectly, and I thought its build quality was the same as the original Dyson part. Will it hold up over time? Well I got a new hose because the Dyson one crapped out very early in the vacuums life so Dyson didn't exactly set the bar to high. Possible it will last only as long as the Dyson one did, but at 40% the price of the Dyson part I guess that will be an improvement. If it goes longer, all the better.Update: It has made it a year now with no issues.   The product arrived in a reasonable amount of time, approximately a week and a half.I was in no particular hurry, so this wasn't a problem. The product arrived with one corner chipped out, making it difficult to install. I swapped ends with my old brush to get an undamaged part to be able to install. Everything else went like clockwork.I didn't send the damaged part back because I just didn't want to deal with the hassle. Time is an important commodity for everyone. I found the price to be fair.As the piece that was broken was in the shipping package, I'm assuming it was broken in transit. Perhaps better packaging could be of help.   Vacuumed up the dog hair really good

  My Dyson DC17 that I have had for awhile broke a belt when it tried vacuuming a throw rug. I had to go out and buy a new belt for $10.00. Once doing that and reading these reviews I thought I might as well by the brushroll also. I got this quickly, it looked cleaner obviously than the old and bristles looked slightly, slightly longer. I put it on and vacuumed again and picked up a lot of dog hair so obviously it works better than the old. Only slight difference is the OEM belt does not fit on this like it did on the OEM brushroll. The grove on the old brushroll for the OEM belt is wider and the belt fits it perfectly. On this new brushroll, the original belt overlaps the grove. Hopefully it will hold out for awhile. I did buy some replacement belts off ebay and they are narrower than the original so hopefully they will fit good once this replacement belt breaks.   Bought a refurb model here on Amazon after hearing so many good things about Dyson. We have 2 dogs, German Shepherd & a Chow.   I have been considering a Dyson vacuum for over a year - the high price was always a concern, along with wondering if the performance was really THAT GOOD. I was hoping a friend would get one so I could borrow it, but my friends haven't cooperated! We just got a dog about a month ago, and she's started shedding, so I thought that it was the perfect time to take the plunge into the Dyson pool of satisfied customers. I was a little conflicted about the re-manufactured Dysons, but until I see how the brand performs, spending over $500 was beyond my budget. I bought from Amazon because an extra one-year warranty is included.I ordered the vacuum YESTERDAY and it arrived today (thanks to Amazon Prime free shipping!). Assembly took about 5 minutes after unpacking all the accessories. The manual is a little strange, but you can figure it out yourself by just looking at the unit.   I hemmed and hawed about getting one of these for months, then finally went for it. I just finished vacuuming the house with the Dyson D17 Animal, and I love it. I got the remanufactured one for $319.99, and shoot, I just saw that it went down to $299.99. (EDIT: Due to the post-price guarantee I should be able to get my $20 back) That's the best price I can find anywhere, (especially with super saver shipping and no tax). I ordered it using super saver shipping and it arrived in 5 days. First, the remanufactured item: I was a little concerned, but found that I needn't have been. The box was a little weird, turned inside out so the pictures were on the inside. The box was also a little damaged, but everything was inside, all sealed and packaged like new, not a scratch, and it works perfectly.Next, getting used to the thing: it took me a while to figure out you just stomp on the front end to make it go (what I get for not looking closely at the diagram).   Awesome!

  I'm so glad I bought this vacuum! I wouldn't be able to tell that it was refurbushed if I didn't know better. It's kind of gross but seeing how much dirt gets picked up makes vacuuming fun! It's not a light vacuum but I expected it to be much heavier after reading the reviews. Seriously it's awesome and I wish I would have bought one much sooner. 5/5 L.
