Hummingbird Feeders Perky-Pet 209 Our Best 30-Ounce Glass

mesafin A large investor. Never any problems. It is not difficult to clean, unless you let the mixture become rancid. Buy a bottle brush, if you get it or you fight to clean it, if the mixture is poor. Our birds are in 1 week!
These are just a few minutes of video. It allows me to silent about a foot away from food and beverages. It's great for photos. These little guys are very aggressive (Rufus) and a noise like a small version of the Jetson spaceship. You hear these people all day. If you like peace, does not receive an investor, if you live in Colorado, and has about these guys. Every day the children, 4 and 6 of his book, the reading of the birds. For hummingbirds dot net to learn proper cleaning and blending. What is really funny, all the "common birds" are trying to get something from this, such as lobster. They learn to float very well.

Elevated Pet Feeders to Fit Every Home

  • Aug 27, 2010 from PawNation in *
PawNation Filed under: Dogs, Pet Product ReviewsMany vets recommend elevated feeders for pets large and small, because they keep your cat or dog from having to bend over for food and drink. This can be particularly helpful for older pets with joint problems who have pain when bending over.

But the right elevated feeder can do more than make things easier on your pet, it can even add a little something to your decor. (We are loving our Whine and Dine feeder made out of old wine boxes. It not only looks great but is solid enough to keep from getting easily kicked over and spilled -- which is an important consideration if you or your pets are likely to knock into it.)

With the incredible variety of designs, heights and sizes available, you can find a selection that works for your pets -- and looks nice enough to keep out when company comes.

    Vid Demo Works good

My girlfriend is a vet and says that cats should be feed twice a day the recommended amount on the food can. Open feeding leads to over weight, knee problems and diabetic cats. This feeder works decent. Positives include easy to program, different or same feed times everyday, ability to adjust amount of food easily, chew proof cord and it is quiet. Negatives include auger is easily reached by cat allowing about 10 extra kibbles to fall out if the cat plays with it enough. It only took my cat about a week to figure this out. I have not had any problems since its purchase and my cats no longer wake me for food at 3 am. I built a divider so the food goes into two bowls, one for each cat, and it works good. This unit is pricey but works well. The quality of the product seems cheap for the price, but nothing has malfunctioned. Definitely recommend to anyone who is annoyed in the middle of the night for food or needs to leave the cat alone for a weekend. 4/5 Max Corbett (Columbus, OH) - See all my reviews, October 17, 2007

Best on the market but not perfect.

After several days of research, I decided this model was probably best for feeding dry food to our cats. The precise timing in nice because we have a cat who eats too fast and throws up so we are able to feed her a few kibbles several times a day and avoid that problem. It also allows each of them to eat their own special diet food without trying to steal from the other's dish.My cats also discovered they could get more food by slipping a paw into the auger but we solved that with a small hood made of sheet metal. There is enough room for the food to come out but not enough to get a paw inside. I agree that the company should design a better cover for the auger. The biggest problem we've noticed is that our cats have become very obsessed with food and will scramble madly to get off our lap/bed/etc when they hear the feeder.Overall this feeder has been much more convenient than feeding by hand and lets the cats eat when we are at work. I'm not... 4/5 J. Johnson (Carson City, NV) - See all my reviews, November 20, 2005

    It is Junk, But.....

With a little bit of work... Which you shouldn't have to do...I have had 2 of these for 2 years. I used to have problems with the timer locking on and dumping all of the food....I cut the cord off of the timers that came with the units and installed a plug. I then purchased a good digital programmable timer and used this to power both units. I never had an "over feed" again. My Smart cat also learned quite early that he could get food from the auger door... I made a shield out of Lexan that goes under the door to keep him from getting in. He then realized that he could use his 22lbs of mass to knock the entire feeder around and get more food. He doesn't realize that he is robbing from his next meal and seems to be happy with that... Kind of a game I guess....These things were a life saver being that I had to travel for work during the time I had them... I didn't have neighbors close enough to feed them regularly....If you buy them, be... 3/5 B. Walker "bwalker5" (Pleasanton, CA USA) - See all my reviews, February 5, 2006

    Works like a charm!

This feeder was easy to assemble and to program. We use it to feed our new calves at the Hindu monastery on Kauai. We mounted it to a small table with the calf bucket under it. Three times a day it dispenses the Calf Manna. We don't have to think about it. The calf gets used to the timing and is waiting when the feeder goes on. We are thinking to use one to feed the Koi in the ponds. 5/5 D. Shanmuga (Kapaa, Hawaii) - See all my reviews, November 29, 2008

    shipping style needs improvement

I have depended on this item for years and when it works, it is terrific. We could plan on a machine lasting a year and order another replacement ahead of time. But when it doesn't last... There is one metal part that breaks pretty consistently on nearly every machine, the one and only weld. Then there are problems that come up with the timer not working as it should. Then there are the loose broken parts inside the damaged shipping box that come into question. What I blame for many of the problems with the machine is the way it is packaged for shipment. Not so much the machine. It is all alone to shift and get smashed inside a paper box and gets broken enroute. That is not the fault of the customer who gets a broken machine that doesn't last like it is suppose to. So what happens? You spend your money and order another one sooner than you should have to. I contacted the company I bought the last one from and they replaced the bottom portion of the faulty machine but shipped it in... 4/5 Linda - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Works great for cats

I've been using my ergo petfeeder for two years now and I'm not sure what I would do without it. Our cat would wake us up earlier and earlier each day for her food and meow any time we were in the kitchen. Since we bought this and started using it for her feedings twice a day, she no longer associates us with the source of food. That means we get to sleep in :) and no more meowing in the kitchen. To address a few issues:1) I did have motor issues on my first feeder, but ergo replaced it and it has been working great since2) My cat tried to get into the feeder the first night, but once she realized she couldn't , she hasn't tried since. I have a fairly normal sized 10 lb cat.3)If the recorded voice is getting static-y or the compartment isn't turning fully - it's time to change the batteries4) If the feeder didn't go off at the appointed time, it's most likely that it's not in "autofeed" mode 4/5 C. Hicks (Silver Spring, MD) - See all my reviews, August 3, 2007

    Worked for a month

This thing is poorly constructed and the electronics are lousy. It did not hold up to minimal use. We set 6 of the 8 programs so it would feed 6 times per day. After a few weeks, the electronics started to fry: the recorded voice sounded full of static and the tray would not turn fully to the next position, leaving our cat hungry. If you can't rely on this to feed your cat every time, it's not worth having! The plastic top has a round center that "snaps on" and is the "handle" for the top. This fell off and would not snap on again. As far as usability, the top rotates around 8 "bowls" instead of the bowls rotating underneath, which means the "feeding bowl" is constantly moving. If you want to put this in a corner, the "feeding bowl" will sometimes be facing out, and sometimes be nearly inaccessible. This means the unit takes up more space than necessary because it can't be tucked away, it has to be accessible from all sides.I am... 1/5 E. They didn't think that a cat might try to get at the food?

This product is a joke. While it might seem hard to believe, there is absolutely nothing to lock the turning lid on to the motor. Nothing screws in or locks in to place. The lid twists on to the middle part, and once you access the timer and/or bowls a couple of times the "twist grooves" loosen up. So when I presented it to my cat for the first time he smelled food to the left compartment (yes there are big gaps for the smell to come through) and promptly pushed the lid to the left exposing half of the compartment with food in it and started to paw it out. Realize that it is the lid that moves, giving the pet leverage to push it off as well as making it impossible to access in a corner. Even the motor has some give to it, you can push the lid to the right (which would tighten the lid in the grooves) but it still moves a good inch, which even if the pet can't get the food it should at least infuriate him! It's not even possible they tested this product with real animals. 1/5 Manzanilla Olives "Manzanilla" (Florida) - See all my reviews This review is from: Ergo 8-Day Auto Pet Feeder (Misc.) Poorly designed, but it did feed my cat

I bought this originally to feed my young cat (9 months) while I was away for a long weekend. I went with the medium size for more capacity, and I had heard people recommend it no matter how big your animal is. The product itself works great; I've never had any issues and my cat is always fed at the same time. The primary issue with this feeder is the opening. Almost everyone had said the cover was insufficient and the animal would either chew it off or constant try to get more food out of the hole. Knowing this, I planned on using the common remedy of a plastic bottle top, duct taped to the front, with the bottom cut out to allow food to fall. This was about as useful as the original cap. I rescued a cat from a shelter, who originally came from a household with too many pets, where I imagined there was competition for food. Even at the shelter, food is only given in doses at certain times. So when it comes to food, Maurice is ravenous. Very poorly designed

The biggest problem with this item is unreliability: it does NOT dispense food in a predictable manner; in fact the last time we used it, the entire contents of the jar was dispensed. Naturally, the dog ate the whole ten pounds of food. This is not acceptable performance from a product that is supposed to prevent overeating and bloat.Prior to using unattended, we filled and programmed it as described, and measured the amount of food dispensed each day. What should have been one cup of dry food ranged between five kernels and two cups.As it comes from the factory, there are many sharp edges in the area where your dog would lick, to get at the food -- these had to be filed and sanded smooth to prevent injury. The bowl is advertised as being easy to remove: too easy. We had to secure it with heavy tape to keep our dog from knocking it loose while eating.Worst of all, there is no recourse for the unhappy customer; the seller has a policy of refusing to... 1/5 M. Great for busy people

Pros:I origianlly bought the larger food dispenser for my 2 cats when I went away last year on vacation. It made it easier for the pet sitter and I knew they were being fed the right amount. Working full time and going to school full time makes it difficult to always feed my pets on time. Now with this feeder, all my little guys are fed 4 small meals daily. It was really easy to set up & I will be getting another small one for my new puppy.Cons:Trial and error with food amounts (it dispenses based on time, not amount of food, which varies depending on kibble size.) My cats became wise to where the food comes out and broke off the cap that covers where the food dispenses from by pawing at it to get the food out (this was only held in place by small plastic pins on a hinge). I just taped it back on and it works well now, but the cap will not keep a cat from getting its paw under where the food comes out from. They only get a few kibbles, so it woulnd... 4/5 R. Best waterer I have purchased

The ERGO automatic filtered pet waterer is the best waterer I have ever purchased. The previous waterer was a Drinkwell Big Dog Waterer. It did not have the capacity the ERGO waterer has which is a big benefit considering I have two labrador retrievers. The ERGO waterer has a prefilter which keeps debris out of the pump. I have owned this waterer for almost a year and am still very satisfied with it. It is very easy to keep clean, much easier than the previous waterer. The pump is adjustable and has lasted longer than the one in the Drinkwell waterer. The only thing is the manual does not tell you to put water in the well were the filter is located. By doing this, the pump is primed much faster, ensuring the water circulates well. A small item compared to all the benefits of this waterer. 5/5 wwcanis - See all my reviews The ERGO automatic filtered pet waterer is the best waterer I have ever purchased. A good product (not to replace human care)

After a month of investigating automated pet feeding and watering devices for my pet cat, I finally selected this two gallon model by Ergo Systems. It was not an easy process, many of the consumer product reviews regarding the various available models seemed to be either plugs or diatribes. Clerks at local pet stores tried to be helpful, but none of the stores I visited carry these devices in stock so close inspection and particular model recommendations were unobtainable. The best they could offer were vendor recommendations based on reputation. I finally made my decision based on design specifications, vendor highlighted features, and the most discernibly objective reviews available. The only criticism I have for this waterer is that it must be taken apart to be properly cleaned but the benefits of providing our cat with running, oxygenated water are worth the minor inconvenience. GOOD PRODUCT GONE BAD

I purchased this product a few of years ago. Initially it seemed to be a good product. It lasted for several months, and then the problems set in.1) The dispensing bowl is attached to the reservoir bowl by two plastic nuts that thread onto two threaded plastic shafts extending from the dispensing bowl. There is also a small plastic tube that extends from the dispensing bowl, and fits into a receptacle in the reservoir bowl body. The tube is sealed to the receptacle by two small recessed O-rings. These O-rings are junk. During assembly the O-rings will twist and bind against each other preventing a good seal. Which in turn, will result in an empty waterer and a flooded floor? - My fix, use a food grade silicone to seal the tube to the receptacle. Problem solved; no big deal.2) The filters that are used with this unit are also complete junk. They are a multi-layered filter, with each layer of filtration "supposedly" providing a beneficial purpose. However, this... 1/5 T. Fogerty (New Mexico) - See all my reviews, December 14, 2010

Feeder unit good - timer part is cheap

The main product works great, a geared down motor spins the auger slowly, durable made unit, comes with covers for outdoor use. The unit itself I recommend for portion control of small to medium dog food pieces etc, which i use it for. One of the mounting plastic pieces where broken on arrival, called the manufacturer (US importer) number and they sent a new one promptly. The timer is another story, the first one worked for 20 minutes, the second one they sent me has issues, wiggling the plugged in plug will contsantly leave the output on, cheap stuff. Resulution is to the second so the chip in it is ok. 3/5 Jon T. Stokkeland "Stokkeland" (Salamanca, NY) - See all my reviews, May 27, 2009

They are a multi-layered filter, with each layer of filtration "supposedly" providing a beneficial purpose... 1/5 T. Fogerty (New Mexico) - See all my reviews, December 11, 2010

    Could be much better

I bought this for my 2 cats about 5 years ago. Put it together and loved it. That is until it started leaking and I came home to find my room with water all over the floor. Fortunately it was in the basement on vinyl flooring. We cleaned it up and took it apart and put it back together.I started putting it in a tray in case it leaks but that doesn't work since the tray will just fill up and then overflow. I've replaced the "O" rings many times but the problem is they move when you put the tray on to the body. I can get it to stop but then when you take it to clean it, things move and leaks start again. At one time, I even tried to silicone them together. Right now it's in the bathroom apart because I don't trust it.I know they have the tray separate from the body so it's easier to clean but it would be a much better design to have those pieces as 1 complete unit. Then there would be no chance of leaking. They also say they do it for shipping but it... 2/5 Laura Ebel (Louisville, KY United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Ergo Auto Pet Waterer, Medium (Misc.)
