  Beware of Metapo

  My Metapo Scooba battery performed well until two weeks before the warranty expired, when it died. I contacted Metapo by phone and they were VERY reluctant to take any action. First they indicated that I should wait two weeks and file a claim under the extended warranty that I had purchased. I said no, I had already contacted the extended warranty company and they said that it was Metapo's responsibility. Then Metapo argued about the actual length of the warranty. Finally they wanted copies of my purchase receipt and original warranty. I immediately emailed these documents to them. A month has passed and I've never heard from them again. If you buy the battery, you can expect to have to buy another one when it quits because if my experience is any indication of the integrity of this company, there will be no manufacturer support for any problems that you may have. 2/5 J.   Great Substitute

  We have owned our Scooba for three years and absolutely love our Scooba. Even though I love my Scooba I hate the battery because of its short life and how expensive it is to replace. I have ordered several replacement batteries from iRobot but had gotten frustrated with the amount of money we were spending on replacement batteries. I decided to take a chance on this replacement battery and I have been very happy that I did. The battery is only a fraction of the cost of the battery sold by iRobot but seems to work at least as well and maybe better. I have had the battery for almost 5 months and it is still working great.One issue that I have seen raised related to this battery which I think may be in error is related to its larger size which allegedly causes Scooba to not seal properly causing Scooba to not suck up the water from the floor.   Did Not Fit Right, Did not Last

  Bought one of these back in October. Charged it when I got the battery, and it worked fine. Then the Scooba was parked for several months with the battery removed. Started using the Scooba again a month ago. Everything fine. Used Scooba 3 times, Now the battery will not charge. Only 6 month warranty on Battery. I will buy my next one from iRobot. Learned my lesson. Oh and the battery does not want to stay snapped in either. You can also tell it is lower quality than iRobot's battery. The battery contacts are flimsy etc.. 1/5 G.   Works like the manufacturer's battery

  I bought this battery for my Scooba after the warranty expired, because I figured that it would probably invalidate the warranty. This battery works as advertised.I have only one issue -- it doesn't seat quite as well as the original battery, and it might be very slighty larger. Be extra careful when you install it. I wasn't, and the battery got stuck in the Scooba tank; it was hard to open the Scooba and get it straightened out.   Scooba replacement Battery is fine!

  So far the battery performs as well and possibly better then the original. No complaints! Have only used it a few times so I cannot judge it's longevity but it manages to do our whole downstairs without a recharge.   I am upgrading rating of this product from initial 1 to 4.5 star. The first shipment was a defect but the seller quickly arranged a product return and send a replacement at no charge. The new battery works great as advertised. Great customer service. It would have been 5 star if it wasn't a defect in the first place, but no one is perfect. Will definitely order from this seller in the future!--------------------------------------------Just received this new battery this week. Charged it, tried it out, and found the batterr was depleted after around 25 min run, with roughly 1/3 tank of water remained. I thought the poor performance might just because of its first use so I charged it again for 24 hour, tried it out again, and got the same result.   We have a Scooba 3400I, which we bought 3 years ago and have used very sparingly - less than 30 times total. All of a sudden I had an interest in using it again, so I charged it up and the dumb battery was completely dead. Then I looked online and saw the outrageous price iRobot was charging for a new Scooba battery. No way was I going to spend $70 on a battery that was rated 2 stars and had horrible reviews.   iRobot batteries are terrible, I dissected one and found very low quality cells. After doing that I was certainly not going to buy any more batteries from iRobot!   This battery looks exactly like the original for my scooba 5800 and snapped into place with a solid click. It already had some charge, so I ran a full tank of solution and 10 minutes of another before it was depleted.I'm sure it will do much longer with a full charge, maybe I should have charged it before using but it did fine.It is supposed to be stronger than the original, which ran long enough but failed after I quit using it for a year. 5/5 Robert T.   Ehh, Working, but not the best

  I ordered this battery about a month ago. I was hoping to find one that would last longer than the IRobot battery that died after a lot less time than they said it would (yet, just outside warranty, of course). It came in a box with nothing but the battery: no instructions or anything about it.The battery definitely functional, but doesn't fit quite right in the Scooba. I store it on its side in order to keep the wheels from going flat, and because the battery wasn't snapping in, it kept losing contact. I also had the problem when I tried to put it on the floor and run it. The tank no longer snaps in easily, and the battery just feels too tall for it.I have managed to make it work, and I even think I got it snapped in better after playing around with it for awhile, but I think I should have just bought the one IRobot makes.   I have owned a scooba for nearly one year now. I was always pleased with the Clorox cleaning results. I recently ordered theenzymatic cleaner and it does absolutely nothing different than plain water. Vinegar is more effective. Unfortunately The Scooba is not the same machine without the Clorox cleaner. You can buy this Enzymatic cleaner at Whole Foods for a fraction of the cost.   Scooba Natural Enzyme cleaning solution is useless

  I've used my Scooba floor robot for more than two years with excellent results. I've always used the Clorox cleaning solution and have been more than pleased with this product. However, for some reason, iRobot no longer manufactures the Clorox product (according to their customer service department in response to my email). They now recommend using Scooba Natural Enzyme cleaning solution. It's useless. When I contacted iRobot for alternatives they simply pushed their new cleaning solution and gave me "environmental" excuses for its benefits. Hey, I just want clean floors. I emailed iRobot back demanding usable alternatives and was informed I could used plain lukewarm water and/or a white vinegar mixture. The vinegar does a better job than Scooba Natural Enzyme cleaning solution, if you don't mind the smell, but it still doesn't compare to the Clorox product.   Tastes (smells) differ

  If you read the reviews of this at the iRobot.com forum, you'll see people who love it and people who hate it. It really all boils down to the smell. The original Clorox solution for Scoobas, which is no longer available from iRobot but is available here on amazon.com - - smells a bit ammoniacal, like Windex, and cleans quite well. This new enzymatic cleaner works about as well - maybe not quite as well, but very close, in my experience. It has, to my nose, a very slightly unpleasant smell, but one that disappears quickly once the floor dries. I would guess that the people who vigorously dislike this do so primarily because they are genetically more sensitive to the smell (just like some people can smell asparagus pee and some can't), or at least, find this smell more objectionable than the ammonia... 4/5 K.
