  We have pets and children, so we've had a few Bissell "Spot Bots" and carpet shampooers in the past. We've also had opportunity to rent machines from retail stores and have used professional carpet cleaning services a few times. The "Spot Bot" and Bissell Pro-Heat that we've used most extensively, worked well, but we looked forward to the opportunity to try this system because something that combined the portability of Spot Bot, with the power of the Pro-Heat seemed ideal.Our expectations were pretty high for this machine, and we weren't disappointed at all. Both as a portable machine and as a full blown carpet shampooer, it does an exceptional job. It cleans carpet and upholstery even better than the previous Bissell machines, and is easy to use. I really liked having the portable spot cleaner combined with the carpet cleaner both because of the space savings, but also because of simplicity.   Cleaverly Converts to Portable

  FactorsI had an old Sears/Kenmore carpet cleaner based on a wet/dry vac and it was monstrously heavy and noisy. It did not have rotating brushes, but did remove dirt fairly well. When the water pump broke, I needed something else. The Amazon reviews for the Hoover models are better than any of the Bissells, but upon closer inspection there are a substantial number of Hoover owners who report shearing off the brush plastic drive-shaft after only a few uses. This is a $30 replacement! Consumer Reports (Oct 2010) says that all the larger Hoover and Bisssell cleaners clean equally well, but that Bissell models are somewhat quieter. They also report that Bissell vacuums are more reliable than Hoover (and I suppose carpet cleaners will be similar). Furthermore, Bissell has a 2 year warranty and Hoover has a one year warranty (although in some Amazon reviews, Hoover owners report only a 90 day warranty!).   One fine machine!

  I have never owned my own carpet cleaner, to be honest. When we've felt the need to shampoo carpets in the past we've always rented the machine from our local grocery store (what a beast!) but this Bissell deep cleaner is one fine machine!Upon opening the box I was a little overwhelmed (it's a large box and a complicated looking device), but I was quickly put to ease by the actual simplicity of operating this cleaner. Assembling was simple: take a screw driver and screw on the handle. Took me just a couple minutes (and I am NOT a "handy" type, but the husband wasn't home and I was too anxious to wait). There were two instruction booklets, one was a quick start type with pictures and just a couple pages, the other was a full several page manual. I appreciated both.   A friend of mine got a baby Cavalier King Charles last year, and though it's a sweet dog, it's peed/pooped on her carpet countless times. Walking into her apartment, you're immediately assaulted with the strong smell of old puppy pee -- which is pretty nasty.Aside from the odor and carpet stains, her puppy had also pretty much ruined a microfiber sofa and chair in the living room (she hasn't yet learned that wise pet owners are better off with leather upholstery and hardwood/tile floors).When I got this pet vac, I knew immediately where to try it out -- we set it up at her apartment and let it rip.   My First Deep Cleaner

  First, a small rant: I am always stunned when high-end products make it to sale with basic design flaws. When you take this "Bissell Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Upright Deep Cleaner" out of the box, it comes in two parts; the lower functioning unit and the upper handle. You have to screw on the handle, but for reasons I can't understand Bissell thought it was a good idea to have the screws mount in behind the support handle. They forget the fundamental mechanics of a screwdriver--they don't work so well around corners. In order to assemble, you need to get down under the support handle and angle up your screwdriver from the bottom. And because the screw wells are so deep, you need a Phillips screwdriver with at least a six-inch shaft that is thin enough to fit under the support handle and into the deep wells.All of my screwdrivers were either too thick or too short, so I ended up having to buy a special screwdriver just to put this together.   good machine

  This machine does the job of cleaning carpets and removing spots and stains from pet mishaps very well. It is easy to use, heats the water quite hot and has a very, very handy portability not found in previous models. The power unit is removed from the home unit easily and the weight is such that it is easy to carry. The only handicap that we have found is that the power cord could be longer, allowing for fewer changes in power sources. We are quite satisfied with it so far.   So What Do I Really think?

  Our old Dirt Devil upright started giving off some burning smells (not the brush belt) a couple of weeks ago, so we decided to start looking around for a replacement. We have a two story house, so something to effectively vacuum the stairs without purchasing two units would be nice. Oh, and under $200 please. Dyson's are cute, but $500 is over the top for such a basic device. That led us eventually to Bissell's two lift-off canister units, the Revolution and this one, the MultiCyclonic design.Initially, I couldn't tell the difference between the two models. Then, another reviewer pointed out the two "wings" on the side of the dirt container on the Revolution model that one customer accidentally threw its two inserts out with the dirt, only to render his vacuum useless the next time he tried to use it.   Great Vacuum

  I bought this vacuum after my old Bissell died. So far I have been pretty impressed with it. The canister lift off feature is great for cleaning stairs or vacuuming your car. I was a little skeptical about the pet hair turbo attachment but it actually worked very well. I have two long haired cats (Maine Coons, so there's a lot of fur!) and the turbo brush attachment got up pet fur from places I had just vacuumed with my previous machine! It is a bagless canister, and if you've ever had a vacuum like that you know it can get messy. It doesn't seem any worse than any other bagless I've had though. As long as you empty them out before getting too full its not a big deal.Another feature that I really like is that you can turn the brushes off with a separate switch; there is a power switch and a brush switch.   Design is good, but charging versus use time and lack of powerful suction are negatives

  I received this item as part of the Amazon Reviewers program and put it through its paces after fully charging it for 16 hours prior to its first use. I managed 14 minutes of varied use: on Berber carpet, vinyl flooring, throw rugs, shag carpet, and concrete, using both the handheld alone and with it attached to the floor sweeper.I first noted that that suction was compromised not by the battery as much as by the amount of debris collected in the handheld's bagless container. I emptied the collection bin three times, which was done easily by removing the handheld from the unit and depressing the button on the front to open the compartment. Removing the fabric 'cup' exposed the debris which was easily dumped out. The fabric cup does get dirty quickly, but can be rinsed and air dried.The Positives... it's very lightweight, cordless, compact and maneuverable.   This unit dramatically exceeds my expectations.It's light, but very sturdy. Assembly out of the box is extremely easy. You push the base unit into the main body, and the hand-vac portion slides in. Very simple.It has plenty of suction power for medium height carpets, and is highly effective on my hardwood floors. The unit is light, and since it's cordless, it's so fast to grab and clean. I can't emphasize enough how much better it is to use this instead of a corded unit.Honestly, I never had a problem picking up anything, but most of my carpet and rug in my home is not very thick.   Good cordless vac for quick clean ups - not good with pet hair!

  This is a perfectly decent light vacuum for people who like to run a quick clean up on sections of their home (kitchen, around the dining table) or want the cordless convenience for vacuuming the car.Assembly was a snap with this vac - the head simply clicks onto the main unit and you are set to go.Performance wise, I have two dogs who shed heavily and track dirt in all the time.   Its the right filter for my Bissell Lift-off Revolution

  This filter fits my Bissell Lift-off Revolution. This is a post filter, so to check if yours is dirty and ready to be replaced you have to take it out and see if the inside is dirty. If it is, then you need this new replacement filter. These filters are not washable or reuseable, so you have to replace them and toss the old one. I love that my Bissell has this filter on it because it keeps my vacuum from kicking up dust, which means I can dust then vacuum and the room stays clean! My only issues was that the replacement filter took a bit of effort to put in into my vacuum, which is good for the seal so dust does not sneak out, but I think it was harder to get in because it was a bit warped.   Great vacuum, affordable price

  We had a Dyson vac which worked great ... until it broke. Getting it fixed would've cost a lot just in shipping. You see, there really are no repair shops in the States for Dyson. So, we threw our $300+ vacuum away after about a year's use. We bought the Bissell a few months ago. Having just bought a new wool rug that sheds like crazy (easily fills the dirt receptacle twice every time I vacuum). Also, we have a 2 yr old, three dogs (2 boxers, one mix breed puppy) and a cat, so we vac A LOT.The Bissell is excellent - great suction, multiple tools on-board and a nice detachable section (we don't have stairs, but if we did this would make cleaning them a breeze). You can turn off the rotating brush, which is great for tile. It's got a HEPA filter (I mentioned our animals, right?) which makes me feel like our air's maybe a bit better than it would be.   It's Okay But Not Spectacular

  I give it 4 stars because I wasn't blown away.We bought this last night from Target for $149.99 which would probably make it about the same in price minus shipping and handling via Amazon. I was sold on it versus the Shark because it had a 2 yr warranty instead of the 1 year Shark offered. Warranties are a GOOD thing. I think overall the benefit you are getting from the steamer isn't the cleaning capabilities as much as it is a sanitizing capability. It is mostly steam and air. Unless you JUST spilled coffee or something on your counter, years of grime and baked in grease will only come off with a scrubber... or a blade. I have 7 kids. I cook a lot and our bathrooms and floors get a lot of traffic. I thoroughly used every tool on the machine from 9:30 pm until 2:30am (I had to finish what I started!).   This is the best vacuum ever! Huge back wheels make it really easy to move around, garage to house and up and down stairs (even pregnant). I cannot believe the amount of hair, lint and general dust I got off my carpet. If my old vacuum had done that well the bag would have filled up twice as fast. The attachment for upholstery let me do my couch for the first time and I got more dirt off my couch than my floor....eeewww!! Plus, I will never have to buy bags again.   I LOVE THIS VACUUM!

  Okay I don't wish to bother you all with a boring review so I'll just state facts. Enjoy.PROS:Its detachable canister makes it extremely versitile (it's light too).The height adjustment knob is perfectly placed, for quick shifts from carpet, tile or wood floors.The included attachments are made to be used! Use them to rid your curtains and ceilings from dust.Its solid, nothing will get lost or broken, and if you somehow manage to, refer to your manual for part #'s.***Don't listen to the crazy lady that said you need to unscrew something to clean a filter. The upper filter only requires a simple twist and it comes free. The only thing you need a screw driver for is to clear cloats or change the drive belt (the rubber band). This model was built to make it easy to *see* cloats with its clear design.   2x strength takes out 100% of stains

  This product gave me results that are nothing short of amazing. I tried Bissell 2x Deep Cleaning formula after having disappointing results with many MANY other carpet cleaning formulas; I had even resorted to a "professional" cleaning with only "fair" results. After the various attempts the carpet would typically look <50% improved, but certain mystery stains that were there forever would either remain or come back. No matter what I tried, the high traffic areas never regained the loft it used to have and never really looked clean. Even worse was after the chem -dry type cleaning the carpet actually started to attract MORE dirt, looking worse than before; I didn't realize that the "dry" type cleaning is like shampooing your hair without rinsing and so after a few weeks I had to try something different.   This stuff is powerful!

  Don't plan to use this product on simply sprucing up a dingy heavy traffic area like I did! Best plan on cleaning the entire carpet if you start because the small area you clean will be so clean that it makes the entire rest of the carpet look dingy!Especially don't do what I did - I ignored the fact that this cleaner is labeled double-strength (oh, yeah, that's what they all say, right?)...but this one really MEANS it!! I used my usual amount and a bit more in my Bissell carpet cleaner and was pleased at how it quickly cleaned up the dirty traffic areas in the room. (I'd done this before with other cleaners and pretty much every area matched when it had dried.)But to my horror, when I saw the cleaned up areas the next morning, they looked so bright in comparison to the rest of the carpet, I thought I had bleached those areas and ruined my whole carpet!! (Turns out there's no bleach in this cleaner.)   Cleans as Promised

  According to the Amazon page - "It (Bissell 2X Professional) outcleans all other formulas." Isn't that what they all say? As luck would have it, my usually well behaved Bolgnese peed on on the carpet the day before the Bissell arrived in the mail. She punctuated that sin by leaving her autograph in another room the next day too.By the time I got to the first stain in my computer room, the mark was bright yellow and dry. I ran the Spot Bot on it twice with two different products (Capture and Hoover), yet a distinct spot still remained. Curses!I tried again the next day using the Spot Bot with Bissell 2x Professional in the tank. Amazingly the spot completely disappeared. On the second pee spot I used a Hoover upright carpet cleaner and the Bissell cleaner. Again the carpet looked terrific after cleaning with no trace of any stains.   I thought I would have to buy a new vacuum when the belt broke on mine. It ended up being very easy to take apart and put back together with a new belt.
